What to expect when you adopt
Our process is straightforward and supportive. Here's exactly how it works from browse to take-home.
1. Find your match
Start by browsing our adoptable cats and adoptable dogs. Each profile lists age, sex, breed estimate, special needs, and a short bio. Take note of one or two you would like to meet.
2. Apply online
Click Apply to adopt on the pet's profile. This opens an application on Shelterluv, our shelter management platform. Applications take about 10 minutes and include questions about your household, other pets, and lifestyle so we can confirm a good match.
3. Meet and greet
Once your application is reviewed (typically within 24-48 hours), we will schedule a visit. Plan to spend at least 30 minutes with the pet - cats are introduced in a quiet room, dogs in a play yard. Bring all members of your household, including resident dogs if applicable.
4. Finalize the adoption
If everyone feels good about the match, you complete adoption paperwork and pay the adoption fee. Most adoptions are finalized the same day.

After adoption
Going home is just the beginning. We are here to help during your transition - whether it's a behavior question, a medical follow-up, or just sharing happy updates. Most pets take about two weeks to fully decompress in their new environment.
